The Guru
Smt. Sandhiya Soundara Rajan founded Sri Natiyalaiya Kalamandir in the year 2009, with the vision of sharing the beauty and depth of Bharatanatyam, the oldest and most widely performed classical dance tradition in India. We participated in an international dance competition held in Delhi and won 1st prize. Then 2nd prize in the duet round, and also won 2nd prize in the group dance. Our students also participated in the district-level competition and bagged 14 prizes in different age categories. Sri Natiyalaiya Kalamandir do salangai poojai and arangetram for the students in a traditional way. Sri Natiyalaiya Kalamandir trains the students for grade exams too.
Smt. Sandhiya Soundara Rajan is pursuing Ph.d, in Bharathanatyam at Thanjai Tamil University. She trained the students undergone advance training in Bharathanatyam in the traditional pandanallur style..
The knowledge gained from her Gurus, encouragement from well wishers continue to be part of her journey in sealing peaks. Sri Natiyalaiya Kala Mandir is an institution which currently imparts training in Bharathanatyam was established in the year 2011 by its present founder & director Sandhiya Soundara Rajan, to share the true beauty and power of indian classical dance while maintaining its authenticity.
Students of this Institution have performed at Nardha gana Sabha, Mylapore Saibaba Temple, Natiyanjali festivals and so many Natiyanjali in Tamilnadu. And the Students of Sri Natiyalaiya Participated in ‘ALL INDIA DANCE COMPETITION" and won many prizes and her senior student got Government award Kalai illaimani. She has also showcased her excellance in many international events and has bagged many awards.
